After seeing her and filling out the paperwork I was thrilled to bring her home. My car was already quite crowded, so Mario, Polo, and the puppy hung out in the back seat while Willow sat on Tanya's lap. I think Willow was less than comfortable, as bony as she was, and her attempts to use the side door as a head rest resulted in her rolling down the power windows as we drove down the highway at 60 mph. Besides some comic relief the ride through KY and IN was relatively uneventful.
Things got hairy as we went thru IL and closer to STL in MO. We missed exits because we got cut off and ended up going in circles for awhile. We added about 2 hours driving around lost downtown (or close to downtown) trying desperately to get back onto the right highway. What should have been ten hours driving with an hour or two allotted for stops and the shelter turned into a 14 hour trip.
But for this face, it was totally worth it :)
